Welcome to First Grade! This is such an exciting time for your child, and we know Back to School supplies are part of that excitement!
The school provides writing and art tools for our classroom learning, but here are some things your child will need daily:
Your child will need a backpack.
A communication folder. Papers, books, notices, and homework will only be sent home in your child’s folder. Please designate, one specialpocket folder to be used for homework only. (A binder is too big and not
necessary…just a small pocket folder.) PLEASE: Label it on the front with your child's first and last name.
A mask.(Update as of August 23, 2021 ~ Mask wearing decisions will be made by school administration, based upon transmission levels. Superintendent Balke will be sending out informational videos to the community within the week.)
Your child should practice mask wearing and tracking. Please make a plan with your child on how to keep track of the mask. Some ideas may be to use a pocket, a break away style lanyard (for safety), or a hat clip. Whatever becomes the plan, please have your child practice the routine. Your child should be comfortable with wearing a mask and fluid in keeping track of it so that enjoying learning can take place.
A spill proof and filled water bottle should come to school daily. On the hot days, you may want to pack two.
A snack and a snack drink. Please be sure that you pack snacks that your child will be able to open independently.
A lunch or a plan to have school lunch. If your child is bringing lunch to school, please be sure that your child knows what parts are for snack and what parts are for lunch.
Your child should have a change of clothes at all times in a plastic bag that will stay in his/her backpack. Accidents happen. Please remember to change this out seasonally and as they grow! And grow they do!
At home school supplies are encouraged. Your child will want to share what has been learned, and there will be some homework and projects too.
Stock your child’s learning space or learning tub! Here are items that will be essential.
