The more we read the more we know. Reading to your child, with your child, or hearing your child read to you are all valuable reading opportunities. Our first and most important homework expectation is reading with and to your child daily. Celebrate READING!
Each week your child will bring home a Home to School Connection Packet. These ideas and activities will complement the work your child is doing in school. Please use this packet as at home practice and as a window into what we are learning.
As our year progresses, your child will bring home a book that he/she has practiced at school. The book should be read, celebrated, and returned to school the next day.
In time, we will also begin a weekly spelling and assessment routine. There are ideas for spelling practice on my website's "Spelling" tab.
Please work at home to find a consistent and well-supplied homework spot. Making a comfortable and special work place can make a difference in creating a positive attitude towards school and creating quality work!
