Hello Families,
I will be sending home the field trip checklist again tonight. We are very excited for our trip. I wanted to touch base about this last week of school. It is often a difficult time for the students. They are excited about summer, but they are leaving a very special year behind. Transitions are difficult, so I'm working very hard here to keep their routines going and readying them for the goodbye and the new school year to come. For your part, please try to keep the early bedtimes and the routines going for one more week. Please be sure to send a note in the morning with any changes of plans. This helps me to address the day with your child. Healthy snacks and lots of water are encouraged too! I'd love to have an end of year juice and muffin extravaganza on Monday morning. If you are able to contribute juice, nut free muffins, or fruit, please email me and let me know! Thanks! Our field trip to Odiorne Point is on Tuesday. Please follow the checklist that was sent home last week to ensure that your child is prepared. This is an ORANGE T-shirt day. Please have your child wear his/her t-shirt.
We will go Rain or Shine, and it looks like rain. Please add a raincoat to the list! We are learning about the animals and plants that we will observe at the Rocky Shore. Last week we charted the temperature and read about all kinds of weather. We wrote about the weather, and some of the students even became meteorologists. They wrote weather forecasts for all types of weather! They were all a part of the BBC Weather Channel. (Best Bobcats Weather Channel) This week, we will read about traditions. Our phonics work will focus on three letter blends in one and multi-syllable words! During math time we are reviewing our math facts, time, and graphing. On Friday, we will have our Field Day. Ms. Baines has prepared an awesome day for us! Again, this will be a day to wear our ORANGE t-shirt! Have your child dress in active clothing and sneakers. Sunscreen should be applied prior to coming to school, and please pack an extra water bottle! Tomorrow is our school wide READING celebration. Please have your children wear their ORANGE t-shirts. They should also bring a beach towel to sit on.
Today, information on what to bring for our Field Trip on Tuesday will be coming home. PLEASE adhere to the list! Also, your children should wear their ORANGE T-shirt for the field trip too! It will help me to locate our small learning groups! Our class has reached their reading goal...1,000 books. Our school wide reading celebration is this Thursday. Our class should wear their ORANGE t-shirts and each child should bring a beach towel to read on.
This week we will be learning about the Tide Pools and about weather.
Field Trip forms are due back tomorrow. Information about what to bring for the field trip will come home later this week. |
