Hello First Grade Families, My name is Mrs. Veilleux. This year will be one filled with wonder and discovery. I have many wonder-filled lessons to share with you! We will do lots of creating and exploring. I love to read, and we will read lots of great books together. I also love to write books with you, so throughout the year we will be writers and illustrators. Some of you will be meeting with me in the classroom, doing some work from home, and having some ZOOM time with me too! If that sounds like you, then you will be learning in our Hybrid Learning Model. Others of you will be meeting with me and your classmates on ZOOM and doing all of your learning and assignments from home. If this sounds like you, then you will be learning in our Remote Learning Model. If you see me on ZOOM, I will look like this. When you see me in the classroom, or if you see me at the grocery store, I will look like this. However you see me, I'll be your teacher, and you'll see my eyes smiling because I am lucky to have you in my first grade!
This year will begin differently, and I know that brings up many questions for families. I am really looking forward to getting to know you BEFORE the start of this school year. The first part of this getting to know you starts with homework for your parents or guardians. Parents and Guardians, nobody knows your child better than you do. I would absolutely love if you can email me a letter telling me some information about your child.
I’d love to hear about your child’s favorite toys and activities, and I’d also like to know about the things that your child finds challenging. Part two of getting to know you is a ZOOM call. After I receive your emailed letter, I’ll email you back to set up a ZOOM call with you and your parent(s) or guardian(s). That way, we can meet before school starts, I can give you a virtual tour of the classroom, and we can have some ZOOM fun together. Families, please take time to explore my website. Please visit the tabs to learn about our classroom. The Daily Schedule, Nuts and Bolts, School Supplies, and Expected Behaviors tabs will be a great place to learn the ins and outs of our classroom and what you will need to start the year. For school-wide information, www.nbcs.k12.nh.us is an excellent resource. I can't wait to wonder and discover with you! Mrs. Amy Veilleux [email protected] Hello Future First Grade Families,
The start of the school year is nearing. As of this week, New Boston Central School will be using both a hybrid model and a remote model for instruction. In mid-August, you can expect a letter from me welcoming your child and your family to our classroom community. I look forward to a year full of new discoveries! |
