The Open House and Showcase was GREAT! Please send along a picture or two if you are able. The colder weather is coming, and I'd like to take a moment to review our cold weather routines. Children should have a jacket every day. When the snow begins, only students with boots, jackets, snowpants, hats, and mittens will be allowed to go beyond the tar. Children are expected to be able to get their own gear on and off. Zippers and tying are tricky, so please be sure to have your child practice this at home. Your child should have a pair of dry shoes to change into. If your child would like to keep an extra pair of shoes or hard soled slippers/moccasins/crocs here at school, they are welcome to do so. I'm hoping that this will cut down on the amount of slush and snow that comes into the classroom. We do a lot of floor activities, so a clean dry floor is always preferred. If your child keeps a pair of shoes here, they must have strong sole (no cloth slipper types). The shoe must be suitable to wear outside if we had a fire drill. I'm hoping this will help keep our floor and our kids clean and dry. This is not a must do, but please consider having your child keep a pair of shoes here for the winter months. If you choose to do this, please let me know, so I can guide your child on where to keep these. Your child will still need to pack sneakers for P.E. day. We have P.E. on Mondays. Our library day is on Wednesdays. We had quite a few children who were unable to pick out a new book. Please be sure that your child packs his/her library book on Wednesday. This week we will be reading and learning about jobs in our community. We will finish our "In November" writings as well. Comments are closed.
