This week we will be reading and writing about Friends. We will be learning about Friends Around the World. Our Social Studies work will focus on learning about our flag and the meaning of the Pledge of Allegiance. In Math, we will work on number line hops and using the number line and number grid as a strategy to add and subtract. Your child will be assigned work on IXL as well. I will have an instructional video going out on Monday to explain the next steps. Your child should spend about 15 minutes on each starred item. Your child will have about 4-6 starred recommendations each week. These do not need to be completed all at once, but should be stretched out throughout the week. BE ON THE LOOK OUT! I am encouraging more paper and pencil activities when I can. Hybrid Learners will have their Math Journal sent home on Thursday. That way, when assigned a math page, the children can work right in the journal, and you can upload a picture of the finished work. Please look for this journal on Thursday, and put it in a safe place for remote work days. I will also be sending home the next installment of Scholastic News and the work that will be assigned to them. Remote Learners, please plan for a materials pick up and return on Friday, November 6th. I will have new materials for the students, and would ask that the following be returned: Library books Leveled Readers: Except for the ones titled Friends Are Fun and WE Can Move!
