March is here! I am so excited to see your kids on Tuesday. We will continue to learn about changes over time, and this week it is all about how plants grow and change over time. We'll be starting spring a bit early by doing a little classroom planting of our own! In math we begin a scrolling project. Your children will be working to read, write, and sequence numbers past 120. This is a traditional and memorable first grade math project. As the scrolls progress, they begin to measure their length...first it's longer than their desk, then it reaches the floor, becomes taller than a first grader, and on and on it grows. You will see that on SEESAW, I have changed the format of the journal to a CHOICE board. I hope this will be a new and engaging journal experience. This week, your child will be asked to head to IXL and use the Diagnostic Arena. We haven't done this since the first weeks of using IXL, so please be sure to listen to my video and please repeat to your child that this is independent, and that if your child is asked a question that is too difficult, there is a button that says, "I haven't learned this yet!" Please have your child use this button when needed. :] Friday is a school-wide Crazy Hat spirit day. Your child is invited to come to ZOOM wearing a crazy hat. Paper, cloth, purchased, or homemade...all crazy hats are welcome! I am looking forward to a great week! I'll see your Shining Super Stars soon! Comments are closed.
