Our field trip to Odiorne Point State Park is on June 11th. This is a learning rich exploration day. We need many volunteers to make the day a great one. In order to be a volunteer for this trip, the Designated Volunteer process must be completed. More information on this is detailed weekly in our school's Bobcat News.
More information about the trip will come out in late May/early June, but I wanted to let you know the date. This week we learned about animal teams and how animals can work together to benefit each other. Your children learned that this is a form of symbiosis. We also researched Penguins. We read many books, articles, and researched websites to get our information. The information was completed on Friday, and it went home with your child. Please have them share it with you. On Friday, we read Tacky the Penguin. We worked with our reading buddies to design a raft for a penguin to use (for when it didn't feel like swimming) and they had to float it in the icy waters, icebergs and all! This was a great engineering activity, and this Friday, they made a plan to try it again. This time with more materials, and more ideas that they gathered from each other. True engineers. This week we will continue to learn about animal behavior. Tuesday is Teacher Workshop Day. I have two conference slots available after my workshop. 3:30 and 4:00. Please let me know if you would like one of the slots. First come first served, but if that time doesn't work out or is taken, please let me know if you would like to try for a different time. A reminder about our Specials Schedule. Monday - P.E. (Wear sneakers) Tuesday - ART Wednesday - Library (Our goal is to have 100% book return) Thursday - Music Comments are closed.
