This week, our reading and writing question will be, "What can you do with your friends?" We will read about friends, discuss way to be a good friend, and write about the topic too.
In math, we are working on solving addition and subtraction problems. We are focusing on using the vocabulary of making a change to more and making a change to less. We are learning that we can write a number sentence to go with these words. For example: If we have 2 pumpkins and then we get three more pumpkins, this will change what we have to more pumpkins. 2+3 = 5 pumpkins. This would be an example of a change to more math problem. I reviewed our ConnectED platform (Reading and Math) again with the kids on Friday, and shared with them some of the things that they could access at home by using this. The reading part of ConnectED will have the spelling words for the week, suggestions for activities for reading and writing, and access to all of the books and games for that week. Children can also access the math lessons and games through this platform. If you need me to resend your child's password, please send a note in your child's folder, and I will be happy to do that. Also, the passcodes for SEESAW have gone home and there is some homework for the month of October assigned there. Please be sure to check it out. Both of these platforms will be used if we have a Remote Learning Snow Day, and I would like all children to be familiar and comfortable with using them from home. Our science work will be focused around pumpkins and asking questions about pumpkins. We will have a pumpkin lab this week! Our Social Studies work will include focusing on friendships and fire safety. If you have not returned the Fire Safety permission slip, please send it in by tomorrow. If you have misplaced the slip, please send in a note either giving or not giving permission for your child to visit the Fire Safety trailer. Comments are closed.
