Last week we enjoyed our trip to Odiorne Point. When we got back we wrote about our trip and we began a writing about some of the Tide Pool creatures.
I hope you have heard about our chicken eggs. We are incubating 7 chicken eggs. Your children will be learning about the life cycle and learning about other animals that lay eggs too. We have learned about many U.S. Symbols. We learned about the history of our flag and about many other U.S. Symbols too. During library, we were able to go on a Virtual Field Trip guided by Mrs. Charles. The children used 3D goggles to "visit" and learn about The Washington Monument, The Lincoln Memorial, Mt. Rushmore, and the St. Louis Arch. This week we will select a U.S. Symbol and your child will use resources to research that symbol! Our school will observe Memorial Day on May 30th. Please have your child wear red, white, and/or blue in any combination. They will be singing a song at our assembly and learning about Memorial Day. The community is welcome to attend the assembly. It begins at 9 a.m. and generally lasts an hour. This week your children will take on more of their own learning! They will be creating their own spelling list tomorrow based on words that they feel have been challenging for them. As a reminder, your child should be returning their Homework Logs each Friday. Please encourage your child to attempt to fill this out the Minutes Read part on his/her own. We are working on mastering our time to the hour and to the half hour. We will continue to work on this at school. Any opportunity to have your child read an analog clock will help them to see this skill in the every day world. Comments are closed.
