:Hello Families, By Sunday, we will have a class name! The kids have made some terrific suggestions. I have created a voting activity on SEESAW. Please have them vote by Sunday at 7:00 a.m. The kids are doing a great job with their in person/in zoom lessons and with their remote learning lessons. I am seeing great effort. I am also seeing such wonderful acts of friendliness and kindness towards one another. Whether the setting is the classroom or a ZOOM room, the kids are interested in each other's contributions. When writing with the kids, you may have heard me say to the kids, I want to see what you know about that word or may notice that I do not correct every error. I am looking to see what each child knows and how they use what they know to problem solve something tricky. You may hear me asking them to sound stretch the word. This is called spelling by approximation, and it is a huge step in developing life-long spellers. In thinking about the week ahead, I've listed a few things that the kids may need and/or may make things a bit more smooth. Full Remote Learners: You will need a deck of cards with the face cards removed. You will also need some colorful construction paper close at hand for Monday's lesson. Hybrid Learners and Full Remote Learners: I am noticing a lot of audio feedback during large ZOOM calls. I'd like to suggest that if you have a set of headphones or earbuds that are compatible with your device that you give those a try. That will eliminate the background noise and may help with the audio feed. Also, we will have a cooking activity on SEESAW for Full Remote learners on Friday, September 25th and for Hybrid Learners on Monday, September 28th. On your specified day, a video will be available on Seesaw, showing you how to make something absolutely delicious to eat! The ingredients you will need to take part in the cooking activity are listed below. Here is what you will need: 1 rice cake peanut butter, Nutella or sun butter cheerios two slices of banana 1 apple cut into thin wedges 2 blueberries a slice of carrot cut in a triangle Families, have a wonderful weekend! You have amazing children! Comments are closed.
