It has been so enjoyable to listen to the boat presentations and to read their journals. Those boats are taking them to places real such as Antarctica, Alaska, Australia, France, Maine, islands and Florida and to places imagines such as underwater cities and islands where mermaids and dinosaurs live.
Today, your child has a reading fluency check-in. Reading fluency is the ability to read accurately, clearly, and at an appropriate rate. (Not too choppy and not too fast). It will also measure your child's ability to self-correct when meaning breaks down. The passages are short. Your child should practice the passage a few times before adding a response. It is important that the reading shows their independent abilities. Today's math lesson is an extension of yesterday's. In my ZOOM time today, I will do a quick review of the lesson with added focus today on recognizing faces and vertices within 3D shapes. We will read another Three Billy Goats Gruff story as well. Tomorrow's ZOOM is a whole class ZOOM. Mrs. Limondin, our school nurse, will be visiting us tomorrow to talk about being safe and hand washing. Tomorrow is also a school-wide spirit day. It is Dress Like A Teacher / Dress Like a Student Day. I'll be trying my best to dress like a first grader! This book was suggested by Mrs. Charles, and I am putting it here for you as a resource if you are looking for something to help your child with understanding our current situation. https://wpg-assets.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/pdf/coronavirus.pdf Comments are closed.
