Today, your child will be reading about working together!
Our math work today will focus on reviewing time to the hour and to the half-hour. Many students are really getting this concept. One of the biggest things to remember and to remind them is that when telling time past the hour, the hour hand is always past the number that the hour names. For instance, if you see the hour hand is past the 8, and the big hand is on the 6, it must be 8:30 or half-past 8 o'clock. It wouldn't be 9:30, because the hour hand has not gone past the 9. In today's ZOOM, I will be doing the reading portion of their assignment to read The Day the Crayons Quit. We will work together to identify the theme by using clues. The students will then be responsible for completing the student response independently. I will also be working with this week's spelling pattern and reviewing time. The students are doing a great job with our Bobcat ZOOM rules. We discussed yesterday being "whole body listeners". This means that we are coming to our ZOOM time prepared to work. Our body and brain are in the GREEN zone (calm, focused, ready to learn). We are ready to be listeners and participators. This means that I have asked students to not be on MUTE. This means that they have to be much more quiet, and background noise should be at a minimum. They are doing a good job with this new challenge! As always, if your child needs support outside of our scheduled ZOOM times, I am happy to do that. Have a wonderful day! Comments are closed.
